Straight answer

ClipperBench earns commissions on some of the links it publishes: you pay the same price, a share of the seller's margin comes to us, and which product we recommend is decided before any of that.

Things that never happen here

Nobody buys a good review from us. Nobody buys a higher spot on a list. We publish no rating we did not calculate, no award nobody gave, no testimonial nobody wrote, and no claim of having used something we only researched — if it cannot be checked, it comes out of the draft.

What it is not

It is not a paid placement scheme. Plenty of the things we link to pay us nothing, and they get linked anyway because they were the right answer to the question the page was asking.

Our own products

We also publish paid guides of our own. They are sold under the name Fieldnote Guides and are always presented as what they are — something we made and are selling — never slipped into a list as if a third party had earned the spot.

How we choose what to cover

We start from what readers are actually trying to solve in hair clippers and trimmers as machines: symptom-based troubleshooting, blade alignment and sharpening, oiling and maintenance, batteries and motors, and cross-brand blade and guard compatibility for home barbers, then work from published specifications, official documentation and publicly available user feedback. Commercial relationships are considered afterwards, never first.
